Early in 2019, the team at Lumberloft Press released a humble short fiction contest with a simple, open-ended prompt: Death from Above. We had never run a contest before, so this was in part an experiment to see what we might get. We received far more submissions than we had ever expected. They kept coming in, millions of words.
