Wren Johnson, a public relations director, has spent many years crushed under an unrequited love for Dax Bentley. She has hidden her feelings from him to keep the peace; and to spare her brother, Riley, more pain. A long-standing feud, brought about by a devastating decision, has lodged a wedge between Dax and Riley that may be unremovable. And so, Wren has a choice to make.
Dax Bentley, an eminent Seattle investor, is haunted by grief, anger, and resentment. In possession of money, good looks, and charm, he must find the right woman to fill the space that housed his heart. But, it has been a long, hard road, and his ability to recognize the woman of his dreams has gotten hazy. So, he chooses a kind woman to love.
After discovering that Dax has fallen in love with another woman, a resort owner known for the string of broken hearts that trail her, Wren struggles with two conflicting desires—get closer to Dax to protect him or stay away to protect herself.
As Wren, Dax, and Riley gather together to maintain the resort, tensions rise as old resentments and potential loves collide. Wren must choose between her happiness, Riley’s, or Dax’s. Will she choose correctly?
